Civic duty: universities at the heart of their cities

-

Panel discussion Prescot - level 1 'L&M'

Universities are unique as institutions of national and international significance in being located across the entire country – north, south, east and west. This makes them crucially important to cities and regions, as engines of economic growth and prosperity, and as powerful actors for social, cultural and (of course) educational development. In this session, experts from three universities with long-standing links to their cities will share knowledge and insights, with the aim of helping delegates to reassess their own university’s civic role and how to develop it to support the aims of the institution and community.
