Value is often measured in economic terms, and the role that universities play in local and regional economies is well documented. But what about the wider economic trends at play? Join us for this panel with two of the UK’s leading experts in the field, economist and vice-chancellor Sir Anton Muscatelli, and fellow economist and member of the Augar review panel Baroness Wolf. In this one-to-one conversation, they will discuss the importance of stable institutions for economic and social development, and whether universities can fuel a virtuous circle in modern societies that encompasses citizenship, social inclusion and healthy economic advance. They may even find time to discuss Augar and the role of universities in post-Brexit Britain.
