Few in higher education would claim that enough progress has been made in ensuring that universities reflect the full diversity of our society. Fewer still would argue that achieving such diversity, among students and staff, would be anything other than a huge boost to universities, to teaching, to research and to society. So why is it proving so hard? And what can we do to speed up progress? These questions must be faced if universities are to reclaim the trust, respect and legitimacy they need, and this panel will discuss how good intentions can translate into transformational change.
