Professor Laurillard founded the London Knowledge Lab at the UCL Institute of Education in 2005. Her research includes large-scale online communities of teacher-designers, and the use of specialised digital course design tools to enable teachers to create and share new pedagogies for using learning technology. She is currently running two Moocs on teacher development in digital course design. Previous roles include head of the government’s E-learning Strategy Unit and pro vice-chancellor for learning technologies and teaching at The Open University.
